Happy Tartan Day!
It’s Tartan Day and the Unlucky Charms are going to shake the rafters at Nicholson’s Gastropub in beautiful downtown Cincinnati tonight! Show kicks off at 8pm, so get there early and dont forget your kilts, lads and lassies.
National Tartan Day is on April 6th honors the Americans of Scottish descent that have played a vibrant and influential role in the development of the United States. From the framers of the Declaration of Independence to the first man on the moon, Scottish-Americans have contributed mightily to the fields of the arts, science, politics, law, and more. Today, over eleven million Americans claim Scottish and Scotch-Irish roots — making them the eighth largest ethnic group in the United States. These are the people and accomplishments that are honored on National Tartan Day, April 6th 2011.
Sham-rockin’ Fountain Square
The Charms kicked off St. Patty’s Day at Fountain Square this year, playing to a sea of people adorned in green t-shirts and beads. Check out the tons of fan/band pics on Flickr and Fountain Squares blog.

Yelling “free bird”
You’d think being in an Irish band we wouldnt be a target for freebird hecklers, right? Guess again! It happens every gig. I yell out to the audience for requests and bingo, “freebird!”. I’ve never really had a comeback for the guy who yells freebird, until now. Since I know this person doesnt actually want to hear freebird, and they’re trying to upstage me, I’ve decided the best way to deal with them is give them what they want…. attention.
Submitted for your approval, I present to you, the “i yelled freebird” dunce cap. Next person who yell’s “freebird” gets to wear the hat for the rest of the show or face audience ridicule. Pure genius or disaster waiting to happen?

FML, I shoulda' yelled Danny Boy
Road to Patty’s Day
Molly Malones and Arnolds pubs played host to the Unlucky Charms yesterday, giving us the opportunity to beat some good Irish drinking music into their patrons as part of our Road to Patty’s Day tour. Both shows brought in a lot of local Irish music fans and made new fans of those who never experienced rowdy Irish pub music. At Molly’s, we sham-rocked a crowd that’s age ranged from 5 to 70, proving once again that Irish music makes everyones blood boil, regardless of diaper changes or hip replacements! Oi!
